June 17, 1885 ~ The Statue of Liberty Arrives in New York

Today in 1885, The Statue of Liberty arrived in New York harbor aboard the French frigate Isère — in 214 crates. Designed and built in Paris, the statue was a gift to America from the people of France and now faces east towards her birthplace in Paris #TrainedAndReady #SCSGBoots #HistoryBites
