The Legion Brewing Company ~ Charlotte, NC

It’s only been open since late 2015, but the Legion Brewing Company is already a local favorite in the Plaza Midwood area. With more than 20 beers on tap, this Charlotte Brewery is located at 1906 Commonwealth Avenue in the old Brodt Music Building.

In addition to a great location and amazing beers, Legion’s head brewer Alexa Long is one of the few female brewers in the region. But that doesn’t bother her! The 20-something is brewing big beers and could easily challenge seasoned brewers in a head-to-head.

We love this place and always look forward to stopping in for a great pint or three!

Benford Brewing Co. ~ Lancaster, SC

Bryan O’Neal and the crew at Benford Brewing in Lancaster, SC have taken craft brew in the Carolina’s to a whole new level.

The brewery itself is located on a farm (2271 Boxcar Rd) in the beautiful countryside south of Charlotte in Lancaster County.  As South Carolina’s only certified agricultural brewery, Benford is a perfect getaway for those who want to escape the typical brewery set up.  Be prepared to kick back  with “family” and enjoy great conversations while tossing back a few brews back.  Although they are only open only on Saturdays, but do offer several family friendly events throughout the year with live music, giant beer pong and wheelbarrow racing.
