The Buzz at South Street Brewery ~ Charlottesville, VA
This was my first visit to Charlottesville, Virginia, so I was up for anything that involved trying out the local Craft Beer scene. I only had 2-hours and lots of ground to cover. I stopped at a gas station and asked some locals where I should head. More than a few of the patrons suggested South Street Brewery (Map) as a great one stop shop, so I jumped back in the car and we were off. Needless to say, I was not disappointed.
The Buzz at D9 Brewing Company ~ Cornelius
In the Charlotte, North Carolina area, there are no shortage of craft beer breweries. You can pretty much find any type of beer to quench your pallet within a few miles of your home.
The D9 Brewing Company is on the northwest side of Mecklenburg County off of Lake Norman in the town of Cornelius (Map). That’s about a 30-minute drive from Uptown Charlotte. It isn’t the only brewery in that part of the county, both Ass Clown Brewery and Primal Brewery are a hop, skip and jump down the road.

The Visit to The Peachoid ~ Gaffney, SC
It’s called the Peachoid, but all it is is a huge water tower just outside Gaffney, South Carolina that only recently came to national prominence. And, it is where our story began.
A little over four months ago we were taking a road trip to Spartanburg, SC to visit the RJ Rockers Brewing company when several friend, most notably my friend Todd, asked me if we had had the opportunity to see the big Peach.
The Buzz at Main St. Bottle Shop ~ Rock Hill, SC
I think that when the term hole-in-the-wall was first uttered somebody was referring to the Main Street Bottle Shop at 153 E Main St Rock Hill in South Carolina.
If you blink, you’ll miss it. Chances are you won’t see it from the road if you’re driving by. And, you’ll likely walk right by if your yapping away and not paying attention. It’s such a small place: probably 8-feet wide, you could lie down on the floor, stretch your arms out, and touch both walls.
